Have you been able to get into your rooms over the summer to start setting up? I feel SO blessed to be able to get into my room, I already have most of my room done and ready for school. Which means... it's already July and I haven't yet had nightmares about my kiddos showing up to an empty room!
Today I wanted to share one of my favorite projects with you that I incorporated in my classroom this year. I am obsessed!
Here is my "pinspiration":
Has anyone seen this all over Pinterest lately? I came across it at the end of the last year and immediately got to work taking all the kiddos pictures. My first project with all of these adorable pics was a slideshow "tribute" to the wonderful aides that helped in our class this year. We had a mini-celebration for them on the last day of school and played this slideshow with these pictures and little snip-its of the kids explaining why they loved each of our aides. Let's just say... it made me teary eyed just watching it. :)
I couldn't just let that be the last of these pictures because they are so CUTE! So... here we go...
I went to Michael's with a 40% off THE ENTIRE PURCHASE (score!) coupon in hand, and bought these goodies. (Okay- I sort of lied... the silver fine glitter came from Hobby Lobby). And 35.. yes... 35 wooden picture frames (they were a $1 each). Bad news is... I don't have a picture of the picture frames! Of course I thought of taking a picture of the materials after they were all complete.
I painted them to match my room. Of course- after I painted all of them polka dot and got them hung up, I was wishing I would have just had some solids in there... Let's just say my first thought was HOLY POLKA DOTS! It's a little overwhelming I'm not going to lie.
Ta-dah!
Do you see the large stack still sitting on the counter? These ones did not fit! Originally, I was just going to use the long cabinet next to it to hang the rest but I am afraid it will make the back of the room seem "busy" and did you notice how many more yellows than black? (bad planning on my part!) So, I am thinking about just scattering them around the room on different shelves. We will see!
My favorite part of this decorating idea... HELLO END OF THE YEAR GIFTS! (: Already taken care of and it's only July!
